Mrs. Amber Thibodeaux received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2003. After teaching English language arts and social studies in a local middle school, she completed her Master’s Degree in Secondary Education at William Carey University. She then transitioned to high school English, where she taught for ten years. During this time, Mrs. Thibodeaux was awarded Teacher of the Year for her school as well as Teacher of the Year for the district. She was also chosen as Star Teacher by two of her former students and nominated for Life Changer of the Year. The years she shared with her students and their families as well as fellow educators will always hold a special place in her heart. Now, she is excited to join the team at Lighthouse Academy, a unique place where students are nurtured and supported through the learning process.
