Traci Barrientos, M.Ed., CALT, LDT, CDS

Traci Barrientos started her teaching career in 1994 at St. James Catholic School in Gulfport, MS, after receiving an undergraduate degree in Reading Education from St. Mary's University, San Antonio, TX. She later became a southeastern regional consultant for Total Language Plus of Seattle, WA, and a homeschool consultant for Winsor Learning's Sonday System of Bloomington, MN. In 2014, Traci completed her Master's in Dyslexia Therapy through William Carey University. She founded Coast Reading Solutions, L.L.C., where she piloted dyslexia therapy programs for St. James Catholic Elementary School and St. Patrick Catholic High School, the first in both schools' history. In 2020, Traci co-founded Lighthouse Academy for Dyslexia. In 2021, she co-founded the Southeastern Dyslexia Summit, hosted annually at M.G.M.'s Beau Rivage Casino & Resort.

Additionally, she is a co-founder of Resourcing Educators & Advocates of Dyslexia-Mississippi (R.E.A.D. MS), a dyslexia public policy advocacy organization. Traci completed her training as a CALT-QI in 2024. In 2023, she began serving as a board of directors member of the Academic Langauge Therapy Charitable Foundation. She was recently honored by Gulf Coast Women's Magazine: 100 Successful Women to Know 2023 and in 2024. She and her husband, Sal, enjoy visiting with their adult children, Arielle, Gabrielle, Brittani, and Jonathan, and their only grandchild, Peter, in their free time.
