What the Application Packet Requires
Students entering 1st through 4th grades are considered for acceptance, and students remain at Lighthouse for at least three years in order to complete the program of study.
The three required items
Every student must have a full evaluation determining that dyslexia is the primary disability. Parents then complete the Lighthouse Academy for Dyslexia application packet, which includes:
- 1The Lighthouse Academy application, completed online through the application portal above or printed and mailed to the school.
- 2Completed evaluation reports, emailed to l.houston@lighthousedyslexia.org or mailed to the school.
- 3The $150 application fee. Checks may be mailed to the school, or you can call (228) 447-4941 to make payment over the phone.
Applications will not be accepted without submission of all three items in the application packet.
Mailing address
If you are mailing all or part of the application packet, please address it to:
Lighthouse Academy for DyslexiaATTN: Lauren Houston
2436 West Commerce Street
Ocean Springs, MS 39564
After you submit
Once the application packet is received, the parents and the child are called in to schedule an interview. After the interview, the principal calls the parents to let them know their child has been registered for the upcoming school year, provided the parent and principal agree it is the appropriate placement. If accepted, parents submit the student's Form 121 and birth certificate.
Fill out the form completely and click submit. One of our professionals will contact you with further instruction.
