Investing in Your Child's Future
We believe every child deserves access to an education designed for how they learn. We're committed to making Lighthouse accessible to families who need us.
Our Commitment to Accessibility
We understand that specialized education represents a significant investment. We also know that families of children with dyslexia often face additional costs for tutoring, evaluations, and support services.
We believe cost alone should not stand as the only barrier between your child and a high quality education. Lighthouse Academy supports an economically diverse student body, and many students qualify for state scholarships that can offset tuition, often by more than half. If cost is a concern, please reach out and let's talk.
What Tuition Covers
For current tuition rates, please contact the school.
Tuition Includes:
All students are required to have psychometric testing revealing a primary diagnosis of dyslexia prior to admission. Testing is available through Lighthouse Diagnostics and is billed separately from tuition.
Additional Costs
Scholarships and Assistance
State programs and school assistance that help families afford Lighthouse
MS Dyslexia Therapy Scholarship
A state scholarship for students with a diagnosis of dyslexia attending an accredited special purpose school. Many of our families qualify.
Learn more through the Mississippi Department of Education.
MS Education Savings Account
The state Education Savings Account program can also be used toward tuition for eligible students with disabilities.
Eligibility and awards are determined by the state, not by the school.
Need Based Tuition Assistance
Families who are not eligible for a state scholarship, or who need help beyond one, may apply for need based assistance from the school. Funds are limited and awarded based on need.
All eligible families remain responsible for a portion of their tuition.
Tuition Assistance Process
Applying is straightforward and confidential. All information is held in strictest confidence, and only the Tuition Advisory Board has access to a family's application materials. Families who anticipate a move during the school year are not eligible for need based assistance.
Be Accepted or Enrolled
Your child must be accepted or enrolled at Lighthouse Academy for the upcoming school year to be eligible to apply.
Request an Application
Contact the school at (228) 447-4941 or email s.duncan@lighthousedyslexia.org to request a tuition assistance application.
Include Your 1040
Applications must be accompanied by the household's most recent 1040 tax return. Submit by the March 1 deadline.
Receive a Determination
Determinations are made by May 15 for the following academic year. Only the Tuition Advisory Board sees your materials.

Have Questions About Cost?
We know financial decisions are complex. Our admissions team is happy to discuss your specific situation, explain aid options, and help you understand the true cost for your family.
"Is financial aid available for mid-year enrollment?"
"What if our financial situation changes during the year?"
"Can we use 529 plans or HSA funds?"
Don't Let Cost Be a Barrier
If Lighthouse is the right fit for your child, we want to make it work. Apply for admission and financial aid together—let's find a path forward.

What tuition pays for
Tuition funds trained therapists, small groups, and the specialized materials that structured literacy instruction requires. Nearly all of it goes directly into the classroom.
Financial aid is available and applying for it never affects an admissions decision. Ask us early so we can walk through the options with you.
One Lighthouse, three ways we help
Every part of Lighthouse works in concert so families can find the right kind of support at the right moment.

A three to four year remediation school for students with dyslexia, grades two through six.
Lighthouse Diagnostics
Comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for children and adults along the Gulf South.
Outclient Therapy
